The 451 take on infrastructure computing for the enterprise
Filed under M&A, Vendors

We’ve just received word from Coverity that the static source analysis vendor will announce its acquisition of Solidware Technologies tomorrow. After four years of growing organically without any external funding, Coverity raised $22m in a Series A round in Q3 2007 from Benchmark Capital and Foundation Capital specifically to make acquisitions and otherwise grow its offering into a full-fledged developer platform.

Solidware is based in Boulder, CO and was co-founded in late 2004 by Sue Kunz and Char Devich, who came from Sun Microsystems. Solidware brings Code Intelligence–statistical methods and analytics ordinarily found in business intelligence (BI) products–to the problem of identifying risk in a code base.

A more detailed deal analysis will be available to our clients tomorrow (by subscription).
