Compiere makes another strategic move w/ board addition

Martin Schneider, July 20, 2006 @ 10:58 am ET

Compiere has just added Larry Augustin to its Board of Directors.  Augustin is an old school open source brain, and the company notes he was one of the group who coined the term “Open Source” in the first place. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Fonality, Hyperic, Medsphere, OSDL, Pentaho, SugarCRM, VA Software (NASDAQ: LNUX) and XenSource.

Compiere says Augustin will help position the company for further growth as Compiere uses its recently secured venture capital funds to hire additional resources and continue building out a worldwide infrastructure to better support its partner network.

We’re curious to see how Augustin’s experience with SugarCRM and its respective success might flow into some suggested developments at Compiere.
