451 CAOS Theory
A blog for the enterprise open source community
It’s time for OSCON 2006
Raven Zachary, July 24, 2006 @ 11:29 am ETI’m posting from the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon, at the start of OSCON 2006, the O’Reilly Open Source Convention. The conference runs all week, from July 24th through July 28th. For me, the timing is perfect. I arrived in Portland last week as part of my move here. As a resident of Portland, I am enjoying the benefits of OSCON being on my own turf.
The 451 Group will have a presence at OSCON this year. We are a silver sponsor, and will be exhibiting. Please visit us in the exhibit hall. I am told we are just to the left inside of the main exhibit hall entrance. If you’re in the area, you can register for a free exhibit hall pass.
This year, I’ll be doing a session on enterprise open source adoption, outlining some of our recent research.
With my program in-hand, there is a lot of scheduling to do! I’m attending the tutorials today and tomorrow and intend to post summaries soon. If you’re in town for OSCON, please send me a note using the contact page.

Welcome to Portland (it isn’t usually this hot … honest!)
I’ll have to check out your session while I’m at OSCON. If you have the bandwidth, you might want to check out our lightning talks on The Art of Community. I’ll be speaking along with Danese Cooper, Mitchell Baker, Karl Fogel and others. http://conferences.oreillynet.com/cs/os2006/view/e_sess/9536
Hi Dawn - thanks for the note on your presentation. It’s on my calendar now.
