Reimer, Walli at new open source startup
Raven Zachary, September 20, 2006 @ 11:43 am ETLaVonne Reimer and Stephen Walli are in the process of forming an open source startup, although no details have been made public. Reimer is the the former CEO of Compiere, and prior to that served as the Executive Director of the Open Technology Business Center (OTBC). Stephen Walli is the former Vice President of Open Source Development Strategy for Optaros. The new company will be based in Portland, Oregon.
Update 09/20/06: In a blog posting, Stephen Walli describes the startup as “…a web hosted solution for small business communities through a lean and simple browser interface. We are Portland, OR based. Think AJAX. Think Ruby-on-Rails. Think open source software. Imagine turning certain bloated business software idioms on their collective head. Imagine what trust and reputation really mean in a community of companies.”
