About This Blog

Plausible Deniability is the official blog of The 451 Group’s Enterprise Security Practice (ESP). It comprises the work of The 451 Group’s security analysts, including Research Director Nick Selby and senior analysts Steve Coplan and Paul Roberts.

Like ESP itself, Plausible Deniability (PD) covers the width and breadth of the enterprise IT security world - from established Silicon Valley security firms to the two-person startups that are the billion dollar companies of the future. All along, our focus is on the business of enterprise IT; in other words: what security problems are companies tackling, and how are they making money from doing so? How do these smaller companies create and sustain demand for their products and get to market? And how do they make themselves the next acquisition target of the 500-pound gorillas?

PD is by no means a substitute for The 451 Group’s research. Instead, it is a complement to it: a new medium in which we will air some of the issues we are wrestling with in our research, respond quickly to new events, and establish a dialog with other opinion makers in the IT security industry. We hope you enjoy it and look forward to your comments and interaction!

Hi,

A very refreshing take on security! Really clears the FUD around the industry, a balanced read I was looking for a long-long time.

One quick note: Can you enable non-members to post comment too? I think this blog has the potential of becoming the point of healthy and heated discussions.

Best,
Pukhraj
